Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) offers a steerable trenchless method of installing underground pipes, ductsand cables with minimal impact on the surrounding area.
Directional drilling can be used when trenching or excavating is not practical. It is suitable for a variety of soilconditions and jobs including road crossings, river crossings, rail crossings and environmentally sensitive areas.
Our Ditchwith JT9 easily fits into most sites and makes light work of installing one or multiple services.
A pilot bore is drilled along a predetermined bore path. This is tracked using a walk oversystem on the surface, which receives information about the orientation, depth and pitch of the drill head.
Once the pilot bore hole is complete, the drill head is removed and a reamer is fitted to the drill pipe. The reameris pulled back along the bore path which enlarges the bore, allowing enough room for the required product to bepulled in behind it.
No scarring to the landscape leaves the work site clean and un-damaged
Our methods simply move dirt underground. No damage will be done.
Being a tunnel underground, trains, cars and walkways can remain active.
With the ability to tunnel, buildings, trees and rivers are not a problem to pass.
