Underground Moling

Underground moling is perfect for use on properties that require minimal disruption to the surface. This innovative technology allows us to create bore holes under the ground without disrupting the surface above, ideal for use under driveways, roads, rivers, lakes and even houses if required.

  • How does it work?

First two excavations are dug, one to launch the mole and one to receive it. We then check for underground services that may cause an obstruction, the mole is then launched. Working much the same as a hammer and nail a piston inside the mole is driven backward and forward by compressed air, this drives the mole through the ground compacting and displacing the ground around it rather then removing it. This method can be used in most ground conditions including soil, clay and rock. The bore hole created can range from 45mm – 145mm in diameter ready to insert the service you require whether a 25mm water pipe or a 4” storm drain.

Trenching and Mole Ploughing

  • When installing services over long distances, our CASE trencher with its variety of attachments is the most effective way to suit all your needs, under any ground condition.

  • The trencher chain can cut to a depth of 2 metres deep and 10” wide in soft to medium ground conditions, in minutes, and can trench upto a maximum of 500 metres a day.

  • The vibrating mole plough is ideal when installing services in soft to medium ground, upto a metre deep. This is achieved by lowering the blade of the plough into the ground with the service required attached to the blade, which is then dragged and vibrated through the ground leaving no trench to reinstate. Perfect for installing water services to cattle troughs.

  • When challenged with hard ground, the rock wheel is used to cut a clean 30” deep trench in minutes, crushing the ground material and depositing it neatly either side of the trench, ready to be reinstated. If a deeper wider trencher is required then the rock chain can be attached and a 2 metre deep, 10” wide trench can be cut though the rock.
